Wiltshire Air Ambulance have signed up to become a public collection point for the ‘Tassimo Brigade’ – allowing people to recycle their Tassimo coffee machine T-DISCS and outer foil packaging throughout the county, whilst also raising funds to help fund the £3.25m each year to keep the service going.

You can now drop off used Tassimo T-DISCS at a collection box at The Orbital Centre behind the Homebase store and they will be collected once the collection box is full.

The pods and outer foil packaging will be recycled into generic plastic products such as park benches, watering cans and waste bins, reusing resources that would otherwise be lost to landfill.

As part of the TerraCycle scheme, Wiltshire Air Ambulance are awarded points for each piece of Tassimo waste that is then sent off for recycling – with each point being worth 1p.

So the more coffee we drink (and recycle), the more money we can raise for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. No automatic alt text available.

  1. Not actually part of Wiltshire air ambulance, it’s two lovely ladies from Salisbury who lost a dear friend in an accident, and the air ambulance tried to help. They raise money though this scheme and the money is donated to WAA. They also have 45 other drop off points throughout Swindon & Wiltshire, to leave your coffee waste and baby food pouches. More info is available on their facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/RecycleForWiltshireAirAmbulance/
    Many thanks.
