More than 150 cannabis plants discovered at Swindon property

Police are investigating after a cannabis farm containing more than 150 plants was uncovered inside a property in Swindon.

Officers were called to an address in Kingshill Road on Thursday morning (9 July) after an electricity company reported discovering what is believed to be a large-scale cannabis cultivation operation.

More than 150 cannabis plants were found inside the property.

No one was at the address when officers arrived and no arrests have been made.

Following the discovery, the building was secured and specialists assessed the property’s electrical, gas and structural safety before declaring it safe.

A police cordon remains in place while forensic examinations and further enquiries continue.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed it intends to apply for a closure order, which would prevent anyone from entering or using the property for up to three months while the investigation is ongoing.
