MHA Swindon Live at Home Scheme launches new weekly lunch club

MHA Swindon Live at Home Scheme will be starting a weekly Thursday Lunch starting on 4 April at 12.30pm at Bath Road Methodist Church.

People are invited to come along to the Thursday Lunch at 12.30pm to enjoy a two course meal followed by a game of bingo for just £6 each, with the added bonus of being able to make new friends and acquaintances through the event.

Live at Home schemes are run by national older person’s charity MHA with the aim of helping tackle loneliness and isolation among people who live independently within their own home.

The Thursday Lunch was previously available every two weeks, but from April Swindon Live at Home is teaming up with The Olive Tree Café in support for older people who may feel isolated and lonely.

Scheme manager Julie Dowie said: “Offering the Thursday Lunch every week will mean a wonderful opportunity for the current members and potentially new members of the Scheme to come along and enjoy the warm home cooked food; the food is traditional British food and we will aim to satisfy all who attend.  Membership of the Scheme is free.”

People interested in joining the Thursday Lunch should contact Swindon Live at Home on 01793 827771.
