A motorist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving without a valid licence after being stopped by police in Swindon.
Officers pulled over the black Mercedes on Groundwell Road at around midday on Saturday (11/12).
When they spoke to the driver he appeared to be vacant at times, switching between being compliant and then aggressive, so the officers were concerned about whether he was under the influence.
A roadside breath test proved negative for alcohol, but a drugs-wipe then tested positive for cocaine.
The officers then discovered that the driver did not have a valid driving licence as it had been revoked, and the vehicle was in an unroadworthy condition with an exposed front tyre.
The driver, a 39-year-old local man, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence. The car was seized.
He was taken to Gablecross Police Station, interviewed, and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
He has been charged with a separate shoplifting offence.
