Launch night sells out as new Royal Wootton Bassett business network prepares to open

A new business networking group coming to Royal Wootton Bassett has already proved there is an appetite for local businesses to get together, with tickets for its launch event officially sold out.

The new Royal Wootton Bassett branch of Cotswold Networking will hold its launch evening on Thursday, 17 September, marking the arrival of the organisation’s ninth monthly networking group.

The network was founded in 2022 by Angela Roberts with the aim of helping local businesses reconnect, build relationships and support one another.

It has since grown to eight established groups across Malmesbury, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol, Witney, Corsham and Worcester.

Royal Wootton Bassett becomes the ninth, bringing the organisation’s informal and collaborative approach to businesses in the town and surrounding Swindon area.

The launch will take place at RWB Auctions’ The View Gallery, owned by local entrepreneur Jon White of Gold Traders. Both White and PR expert Fiona Scott will give presentations during the evening.

From October, Scott, founder of Scott Media, will take over as the permanent Group Leader. The first regular meeting under her leadership will take place on Thursday, 15 October.

The monthly meetings will follow Cotswold Networking’s established around-the-table format, giving members the opportunity to introduce themselves, talk about their businesses and make connections without the formality sometimes associated with traditional networking events.

Guest speakers from within the membership will also feature at future sessions.

Angela Roberts said the sell-out launch demonstrated the level of interest in building genuine business relationships in the area.

“I am absolutely thrilled that our Royal Wootton Bassett Cotswold Networking launch night has sold out. It tells you everything about the appetite for real, friendly connection among businesses in the area,” she said.

“I started Cotswold Networking to help local businesses support one another, and to see the community here embrace it so warmly before we have even opened the doors is wonderful.

“I am also delighted that from October the brilliant Fiona Scott will be taking the reins as Group Leader, and I could not think of a better person to lead this group forward.”

Although standard tickets for the September launch have now gone, there are still a limited number of Founder Memberships available for local business owners.

Membership costs £40 plus VAT per month, with new Founder Members paying nothing until September while being able to access the benefits immediately.

Those benefits include a dedicated profile page on the Cotswold Networking website, an invitation to an exclusive online pre-launch meeting, entry to the launch event with a goodie bag and access to The Circle – an online community designed to keep members connected between the monthly face-to-face meetings.

For businesses looking to meet other local owners, find potential collaborators or simply get out from behind the desk and talk to people who understand the challenges of running a business, the new group offers another option for making those connections.

The next Royal Wootton Bassett meeting takes place on Thursday, 15 October.

More information about Founder Memberships and visitor places is available through the Cotswold Networking website.
