A Highworth man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a serious incident at a property in the town earlier this week.
Gary Rogers, 70, of Downs View, Highworth, appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 August, after being charged in connection with an incident at his home on Tuesday, 4 August.
A 69-year-old woman suffered serious injuries during the incident. Wiltshire Police said her injuries are not believed to be either life-threatening or life-changing, and she remains in hospital receiving treatment.
During the hearing, no plea was entered.
Rogers was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Swindon Crown Court on 4 September.
Criminal proceedings are now active, and the case will continue through the courts.
