Heatwave to last until June with the Bank Holiday set to be a sizzler

Weather forecasters are predicting that the current heatwave we are enjoying is going to stick around for a few more weeks yet – with Swindon basking in sunshine over the coming Bank Holiday weekend.

Although we are set to be hit with a number of thundery showers over the next few days temperatures are expected to soar to 24C next weekend in Swindon.

A Met Office forecaster said: “There will be a good deal of dry weather with sunny spells for the Bank Holiday weekend with further thundery showers possible across central and southern parts.

“Remaining warmest in the west and cooler along eastern coasts.

“The end of May and beginning of June will most likely remain overall drier and warmer than average, with an increasing chance of more unsettled conditions developing towards the end of the period.”

If you are out making the most of the weekend then you will be happy to know you can expect a pleasant end to the day today with late evening sunshine.
