As part of the improvements being made to increase capacity along Mead Way, Swindon Borough Council have continued to clear the area around the subway to allow utility providers to begin moving their services.
A council spokesperson confirmed that they are now in the final stages of completing the extensive drainage work which connects phase two to the earlier phase one works that have reopened from Meads roundabout to Westmead roundabout.
The revised programme means the completion date of the works has now been pushed back to late summer, with the council hopeful the road will be fully reopened in September.
