It is widely expected that Boris Johnson will take over from Theresa May as leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of the UK.
After a Conservative vote of 160,000 members to decide who will lead the party after Theresa May announced she would be stepping down after three years in office the new Prime Minister will be either Boris Johnson or current Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
The result will be announced tomorrow, July 23rd at 11am and it is thought Boris Johnson is likely to be the clear winner.
Regardless of who wins the vote it is expected a number of Cabinet resignations will follow.
Wednesday will see Theresa May taking her final Prime Minister Questions in Westminster before holding a press conference before heading to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen and resign her post.
The new leader will then head to the Palace to be appointed by the Queen before heading to Downing Street to deliver a speech to the nation and to appoint his Cabinet.
Thursday is the last day of the Commons before MP’s break for their Summer recess. The Prime may or make a statement during the day but what is widely expected to happen is Labour to attempt a vote of no confidence.
Should this happen there will be a vote around 5pm and after that who knows what will happen?
