Boris Johnson has been confirmed as the winner of Conservative leader vote at the Tory leadership announcement ceremony with 66% of the votes.
Brandon Lewis, Conservative party chairman opened proceedings with a speech announcing how proud he has been of the way the campaign had been undertaken.
He then went on to call for unity within the party to deliver what is best for the United Kingdom.
The returning officers then took to the stage before Dame Cheryl Gillian announced Boris as the winner with 92,153 of the 139,245 votes cast.

- 509 rejected votes
The newly-elected leader will take over from Theresa May as the Prime Minister tomorrow afternoon after she has been to the palace to resign officially to the Queen.
