Wiltshire Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a dog walker following an incident in West Swindon.
At approximately 8.10pm on Friday April 19, a 14-year-old girl was walking with a friend along the footpath near to Percheron Close, when a man and woman walking two dogs walked past them.
One of the dogs growled at the girl then jumped up and bit the back of her leg, causing a tear in her jeans, puncture wounds and bleeding to her leg.
The woman pulled the dog away and they left the area in the general direction of Ramleaze Drive.
The woman is described as aged in her mid-40s, approximately 5 ft 4 inches tall, of skinny build with bleached blonde hair just below her shoulder. She is believed to have been wearing a jumper and jeans.
The man is described as being of a similar age, with grey hair, approximately 5 ft 10 inches tall, and possibly wearing jeans.
The dogs are described as white, both of the same breed – possibly a Staffordshire bull terrier type – with short hair and pointed ears. They were both on ‘rope-type leads’.
PC Teresa Herbert said: “We are really keen to hear from anyone who was in the area, or anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the dog owners.
“The young girl sustained puncture wounds to her leg as a result of this incident and was left really shaken up.”
