NHS prescriptions in England are set to rise in April the government has announced. .

Coming into affect from April 1st, the rise will see an extra 20p added to the current cost of each prescription taking the current price per item from £8.80 to £9.

The cost of prescription prepayment certificates (PPC) will be staying the same at £29.10 for three months of £104 for a year to ensure that those with the greatest need, and who are not already exempt from the charge, are protected.
