Wiltshire Police are asking for the public’s help after a disorder and assault which occurred at 7.30 pm last night in Swindon.
There was a loud altercation at a property in the Railway Village which spilled into the street and resulted in a 30 year old local man sustaining a stab wound to his side. A bladed weapon was seized at the scene.
Officers attended and arrested a 40 year old man, who is also local to Swindon and known to the victim, on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm. He currently remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment and his family have been made aware. He is described as being in a stable condition with a non life threatening injury.
DI Paul Hacker said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident or heard the altercation. We need the help of the local community to put together exactly what happened yesterday evening.”
