Wet Wet Wet announce intimate acoustic tour with Swindon date at Wyvern Theatre

Fans of Wet Wet Wet will have the chance to hear some of the band’s best-known songs in a completely different setting when the group brings a new acoustic tour to Wyvern Theatre this spring.

The multi-platinum selling band has confirmed that ‘An Intimate Acoustic Evening with Wet Wet Wet’ will stop in Swindon on Thursday 28 May 2026 as part of a run of smaller shows across the UK.

Unlike their usual full-band concerts, the tour will feature founding member Graeme Clark, long-standing guitarist Graeme Duffin and lead singer Kevin Simm performing stripped-back versions of the band’s classic songs.

The trio will revisit some of Wet Wet Wet’s biggest hits, including Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes, Sweet Surrender and the chart-topping Love Is All Around, alongside stories and memories from more than four decades on the road.

The idea grew out of the band’s recent tours, where a short acoustic segment quickly became a highlight for audiences.

Graeme Clark said performing the songs in a simpler style had been refreshing for the band.

“We love nothing more than performing our songs live, so to have the chance of presenting them in a slightly different way is very inspiring,” he said.

“By showcasing our best-known songs acoustically in these intimate surroundings, it lets us strip them down and reimagine them.”

Guitarist Graeme Duffin said the response to the acoustic moments during recent shows helped shape the idea of taking the concept further.

“The songs take on a very different character acoustically, which gives us a unique opportunity to connect with the audience in a more personal way,” he said.

Lead singer Kevin Simm added that the tour would offer fans something a little different.

“We’ll be playing the hits of course, but in a way that people won’t often get the chance to see.”

The acoustic performances have also inspired a new album, ‘Strings Attached’, which features reworked versions of songs from across the band’s catalogue along with a cover of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.

Wet Wet Wet have sold more than 15 million records worldwide, achieved 20 platinum certifications, and spent over 500 weeks on the UK Singles and Albums Charts. Their cover of Love Is All Around famously spent the entire summer of 1994 at number one.

The Swindon show promises an opportunity for fans to experience those songs in a more intimate setting than usual.
