Swindon-based writer and actor Jodie Potter has unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming TV series “Asmodeus,” which follows the journey of an introverted and shy woman who joins a dangerous cult to get the recognition she thinks she has always wanted.
Collaborating with filmmaker Alex Hudd, the owner of Wiltshire-based film company Dreambase Studios, Jodie brings her compelling narrative to life in this dark and glamorous drama.
The teaser, directed by Alex Hudd, provides a tantalising glimpse into the complex world of this elite cult criminal organisation, driven by power, greed, and envy.
The creative partnership between Jodie and Alex rekindled in April 2022 after a 9-year hiatus, following their earlier collaboration on a Swindon-based short film in 2012. A chance conversation on Instagram sparked by a commercial opportunity led to Jodie sharing the script for Asmodeus with Alex. Impressed by the narrative’s depth and commercial potential, Alex expressed keen interest in directing the series, and the duo embarked on a collaborative journey.
Speaking about the collaboration, Alex stated, “I really got what Jodie had created, right from the start, and it resonated a lot with me creatively. We seemed to get along incredibly well from the outset; it seemed like a perfect match from a creative and values standpoint.”

Jodie was passionate about developing the production in the Southwest, “We have a huge amount of local talent, so everyone we cast was Southwest based.
“As a writer, I want to tell stories, and I believe the Southwest is full of original, captivating and immersive stories. All our shooting locations were Southwest based, from Madeline’s house at the beautiful Matara Centre in the Cotswolds to a Warehouse in Royal Wootton Bassett. We also worked with mainly local crew and local film company Sandstorm Films. I’m incredibly proud of what we have created on a limited budget, and I’m excited to film more. Working with Alex has been a dream, his wealth of knowledge in the film industry and his expertise have made the project more than I could have imagined.

“We’ve all had great fun making Asmodeus; we are a tight-knit group and work together so well.”
As the next steps, Jodie and Alex are gearing up to explore funding sources to produce the entire six-episode series. Their ambitious goal is to secure a release for Asmodeus on TV or streaming platforms such as Netflix or Amazon. Currently working on the pitch, they aim to set up meetings with potential investors once the trailer and pitch deck are completed.
