Reading and Leeds festival will go ahead this year following the government’s announcement of the roadmap out of lockdown, organisers have said.
“Following the government’s recent announcement, we can’t wait to get back to the fields this summer. Let’s go,” the organisers said in a tweet.
The events – known for their mix of rap, rock and pop – are due to take place between August 27th and 29th after both were cancelled in 2020 due to the onset of the pandemic.

The announcement comes after prime minister Boris Johnson declared his road map to get England out of lockdown.
The government is aiming to remove all legal limits on social contact by 21st June which will allow larger events to go ahead.
