People are taking to social media this evening to complain about being turned away from polling booths as controversial ID trials take place across Swindon and four other locations around the country.
Swindon voters and those in Bromley, Gosport, Watford and Woking are all reporting that they were stopped from taking part in the local election because they did not have the much publicised ID.
One claim on twitter this evening from Clare Willow is that ’30 people were turned away because of no ID.’
Just rushed to vote but turned away after voting for 40 years in the same ward as had no picture ID! #Swindon

At least 30 people were stopped from voting in Swindon because of no ID. Bloody disgusting unless of course they were Tory voters!
