Swindon boss Alun Rossiter has urged his side to claim their first home win of the SGB Premiership season as they host local rivals Somerset at the Abbey today.
The Robins have endured a tough start to the campaign on their home patch but are now eyeing derby day delight.
They will face another tough trip against a revamped Rebels’ side featuring former Swindon stars Josh Grajczonek and Charles Wright.
Howver, Rossiter believes a victory can kick-start their season and lead to a strong run of form. He said, “We’re looking forward to Monday’s meeting with a few old faces coming back.
“Somerset have made some changes so we have to be on our guard. We have yet to win at home and it certainly won’t be easy but it is time to start delivering at Blunsdon.
It is no good doing the business away if you’re not backing that up at home. We have to eradicate our middle-order frailties and once we can do that, that’s when I think we can go on a bit of a run and put this up-and-down start to the season behind us.
We’ve had some tough meetings but we will come good.”
The match starts at 5pm today, with the car park at the Abbey open ingat 2:30pm for a signing session with riders taking place between 3pm and 3:45pm. The gates will then open at 4pm ready for the match start.
There will be a number of added attractions for the family, with face painting, balloon modelling, 50/50 draw plus a beat the starter timer with leaderboard as well as the club mascot handing out sweets.
Tickets cost £17 for adults, £14 for concessions and £5 for 12-16 year olds, whilst Legends Lounge hospitality is still available at £40.
It is hoped a big crowd will turn out to enjoy the Bank Holiday festivities and cheer the Robins on to victory.
