Pickleball, already booming across the United States, is now making serious waves in the UK – and nowhere is the sport’s growth more evident than in Swindon.
As part of its commitment to growing the local community, Swindon Pickleball is now offering free taster sessions for total beginners at Delta Tennis Centre.
These friendly and informal sessions run every Monday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and all necessary equipment is provided. Thanks to generous sponsorship from Swindon Travel Hub, the first 50 places are completely free of charge.
Pickleball – a fun and inclusive paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis – is rapidly gaining popularity in the UK. What began as a niche hobby has evolved into a national phenomenon, attracting players of all ages and fitness levels. Swindon is now emerging as a leading hotspot for the sport’s growth.
“Pickleball’s rise has been phenomenal, and Swindon is right at the heart of that movement,” said Shaun Jones, organiser at Swindon Pickleball. “Our social sessions are perfect for beginners – relaxed, welcoming, and a great way to meet new people while learning something new.”
Participants are required to complete a simple registration form and to email shaun@swindonpickleball.co.uk to reserve their spot. Alternatively, those recommended by existing players can ask their contact to pass on their name for the session they wish to join.
One free session is permitted per person. Anyone who registers but does not attend will forfeit their complimentary slot. Future sessions are available for just £7.50.
