Abbey Meads U15’s blue squad, a local grassroots football team with players of mixed genders and abilities, is gearing up for the 2023/24 season with Metric Group as its proud shirt sponsor.
This marks the second consecutive year that the team has enjoyed sponsorship from Metric Group, an intelligent parking company headquartered in Swindon.
The team, founded by Manager Simon Cowley seven years ago, has been a platform for local children, including Simon’s sons Jack and Harry, to engage in competitive football on a weekly basis. Jack, now 17, actively coaches the team, sharing his passion for the sport, while Harry, at 14, takes on the role of goalkeeper.
In the previous season, Abbey Meads U15’s blue squad made an impressive mark by finishing sixth in the competitive North Wilts Football League. With their sights set on sustaining this positive momentum, they have also progressed to the second round of the county cup this year.
Simon, who also serves as a production manager at Metric Group, expressed his gratitude, saying, “A big thank you once again to Metric Group for being this year’s shirt sponsor.
“Support like this is vital to keep community teams like ours going and we hope to do the Metric name justice once again this year.”
