Swindon’s 147 Snooker Club to hold a Money Match Day pool tournament

Swindon’s 147 Snooker Club will be hosting their first ever Money Match Day pool tournament later this month which will see 18 players contest nine matches with thousands of pounds prize money up for grabs.

The event sponsored by Emerald Dry Lining will take place from midday on Saturday, November 16th at the Town Centre venue and is expected to be a popular attraction for local pool fans.

Money Match Day is a new concept which sees players compete against an opponent in one game to win substantial levels of prize money.

Of the nine matches taking place eight of them will be best of 37 frames, the ninth being best of 41, with winners picking up prize money up to £4,000.

Tournament organiser Karl Page said: ” Money Match Day is quite a new concept in pool with a lot more money involved compared to the usual knock-out tournaments.

“Swindon has seen a big surge in players playing pool over he last couple of years and this tournament will see a prize pot of £4,000 which is not normal for Swindon.

The event starts at midday on 16th November with all of the games being streamed online for those wanting to watch the action but who are unable to make it to the venue.

12pm – Alan Leng V Ben Calcutt , Andy O’Malley V Jack Bridgman, Matt Hamilton V Daniel Bird.

4pm – Ben Dalton V Ash Ruddick, Dennis Hearne V Mandeep S Jhinger, Rob Quarrell V Ben Carme.

8pm – Aaron Chilcott V Luke Stoneham, Darren Begley V Hasan Ali, Karl Page V Simon Crawford.
