Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on both shop staff and a police officer in Salisbury on Tuesday 16th January.
The assault took place around 7.15pm at Tesco Extra in Bourne Way after staff challenged a woman for opening cosmetics.
The 28-year-old woman from the Warminster area was arrested on suspicion of common assault and assaulting an officer and was taken to Melksham custody where she remains.
Inspector Pete Sparrow said: “We are keen to speak to any witnesses to this frightening incident which left staff understandably shaken, though thankfully nobody was seriously injured.
“We will not tolerate abuse of this kind on officers or members of the public.”
