Woman appears in court in connection with death of Harry Parker

A 52-year-old woman appeared at Swindon Crown Court yesterday (17 May) in connection with the death of 14-year-old Harry Parker, who tragically lost his life after being struck by a car on the morning of 25 November 2022.

Ivy Mwangi, a resident of Redhouse, Swindon, faces charges of causing death by careless driving, causing death by driving while unlicensed, and causing death by driving while uninsured.

During the proceedings, Mwangi pleaded guilty to causing death by driving while unlicensed. She did not enter pleas for the other two charges.

The court has scheduled a further review hearing for 27 June, with a trial date set for February 2025.

Mwangi has been released on unconditional bail.

The charges relate to an incident on Akers Way on the morning of 25 November 2022, when Harry died after being struck by a car.
