Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Old Town, Swindon.
At approximately 2.30pm on Friday 11 October officers approached an occupant of a silver Mercedes ‘C’ class car that was parked in Wood Street.
As one of the officers got close to the vehicle it accelerated away and the door mirror made contact with the officer’s hand, fortunately he was not seriously injured and was able to remain on duty.
The Mercedes, which was on a “68 number plate,” sped off towards Bath Road and was lost to sight. However, at midday on 12th the vehicle was found abandoned in nearby Dixon Street.
We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident in Wood Street, saw a silver Mercedes driving erratically or possibly may know who the driver is to contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54190101378.
