Volunteers from Wiltshire Police proudly represented the organisation at this year’s Swindon and Wiltshire Pride, joining thousands of attendees at GWR Park for a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusion.
The event, held in its new, larger location in the heart of Swindon, brought together people from across the region to celebrate love, community, and acceptance.

The police contingent, made up of volunteers from the Force’s LGBTQ+ Staff Support Network, engaged with members of the public throughout the day. Assistant Chief Constable Debs Smith, Chief Officer sponsor of the LGBTQ+ Staff Support Network, praised their involvement: “Pride is all about inclusion and representation – two of our core values at Wiltshire Police. The volunteers from our LGBTQ+ network give up their time to represent the Force at these important community events, which always generate fantastic engagement.”
Smith also highlighted Wiltshire Police’s ongoing commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, adding: “At every Pride event in Wiltshire this year, a member of our Chief Officer Group has been present to show solidarity and support. We remain dedicated to representing all of our communities across Swindon and Wiltshire, and anything that promotes equality and inclusion.”
The presence of Wiltshire Police at such events reinforces their commitment to upholding and promoting values of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the community. Their involvement ensures that these core principles are woven into the fabric of their work across the region.
