Wiltshire Police are on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Volunteer Police Cadet Leaders in the Swindon, Trowbridge, and Warminster areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in making a positive impact on their local community by supporting young people to develop new skills and take pride in their contributions.
The Police Cadet programme is designed for young people aged 13-18 years old, working alongside Neighbourhood Policing Teams to help keep communities safe.
Cadets meet for two-hour sessions, one evening per week during school term time, learning from a curriculum provided by the National Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme. This curriculum covers various aspects of policing, understanding communities, social action, wellbeing, and personal development. Cadets also engage in community events, test purchase operations, promote safety messages, and provide community reassurance.
Wiltshire Police are particularly keen to hear from individuals who are interested in being positive role models, helping young people develop their skills and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
What You Can Expect as a Volunteer Cadet Leader:
- The opportunity to make a positive difference to young people and contribute to your local community.
- A volunteering role in a friendly and supportive environment.
- The chance to develop and enhance your skills and experience.
- An insight into local policing and the chance to be part of the Wiltshire Police family.
For further information or to arrange an informal chat about the role, please contact the Cadet Coordinator at cadets@wiltshire.police.uk.
