Wiltshire Police are investigating a burglary at a hotel in Purton and are appealing for information.
The Pear Tree Hotel is undergoing extensive renovation work and is currently a building site.
At some point between 5pm on 25th June and 7am on 26th June, offenders gained access to the site by removing metal fencing and broke into a container on site before making off with approximately £5,000 worth of tools and equipment from inside as well as two portable toilets.
They then gained access to the building itself and stole approximately 10 televisions. It is likely that they travelled in a large vehicle – possibly a van or flatbed truck which would have not looked out of place on a building site.
PC Nathan Martin said, “The hotel is located on what can be a busy road at times, so we would like to try and identify any witnesses who may have been driving past the location between these times and saw anything suspicious, in particular, a vehicle which may have had two blue portable toilets on the rear.
“We believe the vehicle left the site and travelled towards Lydiard Millicent following the burglary.”
