Wiltshire Air Ambulance Unveils Christmas Raffle with a Cinematic Twist

Wiltshire Air Ambulance will usher in the festive season with the launch of its annual Christmas Raffle, adding a whimsical twist inspired by the iconic 2003 film Love Actually.

The charity raffle includes a generous festive jackpot of £3,000, enticing participants with the chance to secure runner-up prizes of £500, £100, and £25.

Your Holiday Starts Now

To kick off the 2023 edition of the Christmas Raffle, the charity unveiled a playful video across its social media platforms. The video features the new trainee critical care paramedic, Matt Metcalf, adorned in a Santa hat, conveying messages on white cards—a cheeky homage to a memorable scene in Love Actually. Operations assistant Sadie Avery takes on the role of Keira Knightley’s character, Juliet, in this delightful rendition.

You can secure your chance at winning by purchasing tickets, each priced at just £1, conveniently available on the charity’s website: www.wiltshireairambulance.co.uk/raffle.

Tickets are also being dispatched to addresses across Wiltshire and Bath.

To be eligible for the grand prize draw on 20 December 2023, participants must enter by 13th December 2023. Those joining the cause by 16th November will also qualify for a special early bird draw, offering a chance to win a £100 M&S voucher.

The charity has once again joined forces with Chippenham-based Woods Valldata to orchestrate the Christmas Raffle.

In a heartfelt letter to donors in Wiltshire and Bath, critical care doctor Rosie Furse expressed gratitude for their support amid challenging times, emphasising the importance of the Christmas Raffle in sustaining the vital work of Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

She writes, “We appreciate times are tough for everyone with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, but please do consider playing our Christmas Raffle, and you will be helping to fund our vital work.”

Wiltshire Air Ambulance operates without regular direct funding from the Government or National Lottery grants, relying on the generosity of supporters to ensure their continued presence in critical situations.

The letter highlights the impactful story of Chris Williams, airlifted to hospital after a paragliding accident earlier this year. Despite sustaining severe injuries, Chris has since championed the cause, raising over £7,000 for the charity and emphasizing the importance of community support.

Chris remarks, “We want to know if we call 999 that an air ambulance can be there for us, but it’s not free, it doesn’t come out of our taxes and they need our support, just like they helped me.”
