Greenbridge based WHSmith is in consultation with retail staff over restructuring that could lead to as many as 1,500 redundancies across the High Street and Travel stores.
The majority of the job losses will be in travel locations, train stations and airports, where sales were down 73% year on year due to the impact of the coronavirus crisis on commuting and travel.
This follows a recent consultation resulting in the potential loss of 150 staff at the Swindon based head office.
