The UK is entering its fourth week of lockdown and many people are wondering when it will end.
Pubs, clubs, theatres and gyms among others places have been closed for weeks and we were told by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson that we were only allowed to leave the house for one of only a few reasons.
This includes shopping for basic necessities, one form of exercise a day, for a medical need or travelling to work if it is absolutely necessary.
The Prime Minister made this announcement on Monday 23rd March and said that these measures would be reviewed in three weeks time which takes us to around 13th April – today. However, the question of when this could all end still remains to be answered.
The first review of the lockdown measures is set to be carried out by Thursday 16th April at the latest but it has been suggested that the lockdown is unlikely to be lifted just yet.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab chaired a meeting focused on the coronavirus outbreak on this morning as he steps in for the Prime Minister who is still recovering at Chequers after his release from hospital.
He has said “early signs” suggest the measures are having the impact they need but it’s still “too early” to say conclusively.
Mr Raab added that Sage would meet this week to discuss the latest evidence before a confirmed decision is made.
