What are the quarantine rules for travellers returning from their holidays in Spain?

Travellers coming home from their holidays in Spain will now need to quarantine for 14 days after a change in government guidance.

After being removed from the green list of countries, anyone arriving back into the UK from either Mainland Spain or one of its Islands will be asked to provide an address where they will self-isolate for 14 days.

Passengers should then drive in their own car home, where possible. If they don’t provide an address, the government will arrange accommodation at the traveller’s expense.

Once at their destination, they must not go to work (unless from home) or any public place, use public transport or taxis or have visitors in their homes during the quarantine period.

Anyone not filling in the form at the airport could be fined £100 with those living in England fined up to £1,000 if they fail to self-isolate with one in five returning passengers being called or texted to check they are following the rules.
