Whalebridge Car Park Begins Repair Work to Replace Defective Fins

Swindon residents and visitors will notice significant activity taking place at the Whalebridge multi-storey car park as repair work commences to replace the defective terracotta fins with more durable aluminium ones.

The project, started on Tuesday 30th May, is being undertaken by the original contractors who constructed the car park back in 2013, as part of their guarantee obligations.

The repair work, scheduled between 8am and 6pm, is estimated to be completed by early September.

While the car park will remain open and fully operational during this period, it is anticipated that there may be some disruptions along adjacent roads and footways. The council kindly requests the cooperation and patience of the public as the contractors carry out the necessary repairs.

Replacing the terracotta fins with robust aluminium alternatives ensures the long-term structural integrity of the car park, guaranteeing the safety and convenience of users.
