Westonbirt Arboretum launches Youth Forum to give young people a voice

Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, is inviting young people aged 17–25 to help shape its future by joining a brand-new Youth Forum.

The initiative, run by Forestry England, will give young people the chance to play an active role in influencing conservation, education, events and participation at the world-famous arboretum, home to one of the most diverse collections of trees on the planet.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to get their voices heard, work on meaningful projects, and make a real impact on how Westonbirt engages with future generations,” said a spokesperson from Forestry England.

Members of the Youth Forum will meet monthly from January 2026 to January 2028, both online and onsite, with expert mentors offering guidance in areas such as event planning, marketing, conservation and education. The aim is to create fresh opportunities for youth involvement while ensuring the arboretum continues to be a welcoming and inspiring place for everyone.

To kick things off, Westonbirt is holding a Youth Forum Open Day on Sunday 16 November, 10:30am – 2:30pm, giving prospective members the chance to meet the team, learn more, and sign up.

Whether you are passionate about the natural world, interested in events and communications, or simply keen to contribute to something meaningful, Westonbirt says there’s a place for you.
