Drivers using a main route through Swindon are again experiencing delays today in what local residents are claiming ‘is every weekend!’
With the traffic map from the AA and Google showing red lines all through Rodbourne some road users have claimed they have sat in traffic for over an hour just moving from Faringdon Park to get to the Outlet Village.
Residents in Jennings Street have also complained of shoppers parking all along the double yellow on the road with some near misses claimed at the junction of Guppy Street.
James Taylor claiming the road has been blocked since before 10am this morning with repeated calls to Swindon Borough Council traffic department falling on deaf ears. “Cars have been parking up since early this morning, I have called the local council twice as the cars cannot get out of the junction opposite but nobody has come out to sort it out.”

“If the council positioned a traffic warden here at weekends they would be raking in the cash but our calls seem to be falling on deaf ears”
With the festive shoppers descending on the Outlet Village for the next couple of months and the building work starting at the new supermarket at Bruce Street bridges end of Rodbourne Road it is hard to see what can be done to make this stretch of Swindon’s roads easier to navigate.
