Road resurfacing projects at various locations in Swindon have been facing delays due to adverse weather conditions.
However, some of the resurfacing works have been successfully completed under road closures at Penhill Drive, Edison Road, High Street (Blunsdon), Cloverlands, Ocotal Way, Lady Lane, and Groundwell Road.
Unfortunately, work on The Drive and Tyneham Road had to be halted due to bad weather, including predicted thunderstorms. The contractor, Volker Highways, is expected to resume the resurfacing work on Thursday, 10th August, weather permitting.
Similarly, the resurfacing maintenance planned at Regent Circus onto Victoria Road was rescheduled, and efforts have been made by Swindon Borough Council to coordinate with Volker Highways to complete the works as originally intended.
This work is now scheduled to take place overnight on 8th August. In order to facilitate the smooth completion of the surfacing, it is advised that vehicles avoid parking in these areas during this time.
Currently, the team of contractors is working on the resurfacing of Great Western Way, adjacent to Junction 16 and Blagrove Roundabout. Work is expected to continue throughout this week and the following week.
