You may have noticed that the contractors have returned over the last fortnight to complete some final works at Coate roundabout. These are now almost finished and included installing more signs, reinstating the kerb and fixing broken tactile paving. Final grass seeding will be completed this month.
The project team are now working together with the Travel Planning team to create maps illustrating the walking and cycling routes through the Coate Water area, helping to celebrate the opportunities for active travel and embracing the outdoors.
They are working to launch these maps and introduce these routes in the next month. Please keep an eye out in future newsletters for the launch of these maps to understand how you can make the most of your local country park at Coate Water.
In the meantime, do check out the South Swindon Parish’s Swindon South Green Trail. The approximately 8 mile / 13 km circular Green Trail goes via Shaftesbury Lake, Coate Water, Croft Wood, East Wichel, Rushey Platt, Cambria Bridge, the Town Centre, Fleming Way, Magic Roundabout and Marlowe Avenue. Maps of smaller segments of the route can be found on the website.
