Swindon Borough Council are reporting that this project continues to make good progress on the major reconstruction of Upham Road as it moves onto the final phase of the work.
Engineers have inspected the condition of the concrete under the surface in the final phase and established what areas will need replacing. Excavations and concrete replacement has started as well as kerb replacements and work on concrete driveways.
They anticipate that this phase of concrete repairs should be complete by the end of September, however until the team know exactly what depth each section of concrete is we cannot confirm this. Once the concrete is set the team will lay a binder layer to last phase, then do the final surface layer before finally reinstating the lines.

When the council have finished with Upham Road, perhaps they should turn their attention to Beechcroft Road, Upper Stratton. In view of the volume of traffic that uses this road the the condition of this road is an utter disgrace.
