Your Holiday Starts Now

Each auction prize has been generously donated by local businesses, with all proceeds channelled directly to the charity. These funds play a pivotal role in supporting the care of local individuals grappling with terminal illnesses.

Jeremy Lune, chief executive at Prospect Hospice, said: “When we set out on the idea of the auction we thought we’d have a few prizes but to have almost 100 donated by local businesses is incredible. This wouldn’t be possible without their support so I want to thank each and every one of them for their kind and generous donations.

“We know times are tough for people at the moment so the lots we have up for auction are designed to be affordable to local bidders. We have a range of prizes up for grabs including meals out, books, brownies, beauty treatments, homeware, family days out and more. If you win your item, you’ll get a present that’s great for you and you’ll also be giving a donation to the hospice – I call it ‘one purchase, two gifts’. It’s a win-win for everyone and your Christmas shopping could be sorted well before December arrives.”

The online auction kicks off on Friday, 10th November, and concludes on Sunday, 19th November. Operating similarly to eBay, participants can place bids on lots from local businesses, such as a Sunday roast for two at The Hop Inn, a drum workshop by Bang to Rites Drummers, swimming lessons from Learn to Swim with Lesley, and various vouchers from esteemed establishments like Chickkks Hair Salon and Mr Cut Turkish Barber.

Additionally, the hospice itself has contributed a number of lots, including lunch for two at their Heart of the Hospice café.
