Unlicensed speeding driver has car seized on Great Western Way

Police have this morning been conducting speed checks along Great Western Way with three drivers stopped for speeding in less than an hour.

The first driver was travelling at 39MPH in a 30MPH area with the second travelling at 43MPH.

The third driver stopped at 49MPH was also found to be driving without any insurance and driving on a provisional license without supervision or ‘L’ Plates and had their car seized.

Police reported that two of the three drivers had young children in the cars.

A police spokesperson said “The weather is becoming colder and the roads are wet and slippery.

”We would like to remind drivers to be aware of the speed limits in place and drive in a safe manner whilst paying attention to the current road and weather conditions.”
