Prime Minisiter Boris Johnson has this afternoon confirmed that the number of vaccines administered has doubled in the past week to 3.2million across the whole of the UK.
This number includes 2.8million throughout England with 250,000 Covid-19 jabs being administered in the past 24 hours.
45% of the over 80’s have now received at least one dose of the vaccine along with 40% of all care home residents.
The 3.2million figure means that 1 in every 20 people in the UK has had at least the first dose of the vaccination.
The government aims to protect all members of the top four priority groups by mid-February.
