It has been announced that the UK will donate another 20 million doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine to countries in need.
“In 2022, the UK will donate at least 20 million more Oxford-AZ doses,” a statement released by 10 Downing Street said.
10 million doses of the vaccine have already been donated throughout 2021 as part of the COVAX sharing programme and a further 10 million doses are due to be delivered in the next few weeks.
It is also understood the 20 million doses of the Janssen vaccine ordered by the UK government which have not been used will also be donated although no date for this has been given.
