Every year the clocks go back in October and forward in March to mark the beginning and end of British summertime.
Last year the clocks went back on 30th October marking the end of British Summer Time (BST).
The clocks will then go forward by one hour again at 1am on Sunday 26th March which will mark the beginning of Spring by ensuring that there is more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings.
An easy way to remember which way round the changes go is the common phrase of “spring forward in spring, fall back in fall”.
As the clocks go forward this time unfortunately this change means you will lose an hour of sleep.
Beware of your smartphone as they often now change the time automatically instead of requiring you do it manually.
