Children’s Toys R Us rattle ball has been recalled over concerns babies could choke to death on tiny beads inside.
The Kids II Oball rattle ball has had to be pulled from the shelves after reports of children gagging on small orange beads that had managed to come loose from a plastic disc in the toy.
The popular children’s toy had been sold widely across the UK with more than 81,000 products believed to have been sold in the UK.
The Toys R Us recall was shared online, stating: “Consumers should immediately take the recalled Oball Rattle away from small children.”
The models, sold after 1st January 2016, include models 81031 and 81548.
A statement from the company said: “The recalled products have three clear plastic disc shaped bead chambers, one of which has five orange beads.
“Only rattles with date codes T0486, T1456, T2316, T2856 and T3065 located on a small triangle on the inner surface of the rattle are included in the recall.”
It added: “The rattle beads may release from the bead chamber, posing a choking hazard for small children.”
The products were sold from major retailers worldwide and online.
