You can now buy Angel Delight in ready-to-eat pots as the British favourite gets a modern-day makeover.
Premier Foods has relaunched Angel Delight in a ‘single serve’ pot as part of an attempt to modernise the dessert and appeal to ready-to-eat shoppers who don’t want the fuss of making the dessert themselves.
The famous mousse-like pudding has fallen out of favour in recent years, but its makers are attempting to reinvent the sweet treat.
The pots will be sold in strawberry, butterscotch, chocolate, and banana flavours.
The traditional sachets, which require added milk to be whisked in, will continue to be available.
Angel Delight was first launched in 1967 by the Bird’s company with a strawberries-and-cream flavour.
Famous fans of Angel Delight include Simon Cowell who has admitted to eating bowls of the strawberry pudding between auditions for Britain’s Got Talent and even in his limo on the way home from the studios.
Premier Foods said it was also overhauling its Angel Delight mix to give it a fresh look along with reformulating the mixture to include “real” ingredients such as strawberry and milk chocolate.
