Wiltshire Police have arrested two youths, aged 16 and 17, following a disorder in the Walcot area of Swindon yesterday.
At around 11.15am yesterday, officers responded to reports of an affray which started in Queen’s Drive and continued into the Buckhurst Rec area.
During the incident, a 20-year-old man sustained serious injuries; he is still receiving hospital treatment and is in a stable condition.
Chief Inspector Nick Mawson said, “We would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation and for providing information to assist our investigation. The incident took place during the middle of the day in a busy public area and I’m sure would have been upsetting for anyone who witnessed it.
“I would like to assure the public that there is no wider threat from this specific incident. There will be an increased police presence in the area for reassurance.
“We would appeal for anyone who has recorded footage to please refrain from sharing this on social media but to instead forward this to investigators as this could provide valuable evidence.”
