A total of 45,978,017, or 87% of adults living across the UK, have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine and two-thirds of UK adults, 34,997,491, are now fully vaccinated, the health secretary has announced.
The Government had aimed to offer every adult a first dose of the vaccine and both jabs to two-thirds of all adults by Monday 19th July ‘Freedom Day’.
Two thirds of adults across the UK have now had two jabs. We have beaten our target by almost a week – this is a huge achievement. Thank you to everyone who has come forward. The vaccine is our wall of defence against the virus. pic.twitter.com/SJpp7TvAf3
