Two men were arrested following a break-in at a shop in Cricklade in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Wiltshire Police were called at 2.30am yesterday (10 October 2018) by the owner of a newsagents in the High Street who reported that his business had been broken into.
The owner was watching the offence take place over CCTV so was able to provide live updates for officers, including descriptions of the two men and their vehicle.
A large quantity of cigarettes and alcohol was stolen and the offenders had made off in a vehicle towards the A419.
Gloucestershire Police were contacted regarding the incident, as that was the direction the vehicle was headed, and a short while later their officers made an arrest on the A46 in the Cotswolds.
Two men, aged 35 and 41 and both from Gloucester, have been arrested on suspicion of non-dwelling burglary and are currently in custody at Gablecross.
