Trowbridge Town Wasps Under-12s Score New Sponsor

Trowbridge Town Wasps Under-12s are celebrating already this season thanks to a new kit sponsorship deal with Barratt David Wilson Homes South West. The partnership has provided the team with much-needed new kits, alleviating a significant financial burden for families.

Adam Cresswell, a local bricklayer working on Barratt developments, brought the two parties together. Cresswell, whose son plays for the Wasps, recognised that the rising cost of kits—nearly £40 each—was creating a barrier for some families.

“Grassroots football should be for everyone, and that means it needs to be affordable,” said Cresswell. “Our old kit was over two years old, and it showed. Without sponsorship, we would’ve had to rely on families to fund replacements, which could have excluded some children from the game.”

The Wasps, who ended last season with ten wins, one draw, and eight losses, are now entering a printed league for the first time, with points awarded for wins. Cresswell noted the boost in morale the new kits have brought to the players. “It’s a big step for youth football, and having the backing of a sponsor has made a huge difference to the team’s confidence,” he added.

Louise Ware, Sales Director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for supporting the team: “We couldn’t be happier to be part of this story. We fund sports pitches and play areas as part of our work across the region and we’re watching with interest as The Wasps make their mark this season.”

This sponsorship comes as Barratt David Wilson Homes launches its new development, Buckley Gardens, located near the Hampton Park commercial area.
