People living close to the Westcott Place recreation ground opposite The Runner spotted a group of travellers break the padlocks on the barriers this afternoon.
There are currently four caravans and a number of vans currently parked up with police in attendance.
One person living nearby said: “If the council don’t do something to stop this, we will end up with stray dogs and fly tipping everywhere.”
