Travel to the USA as a tourist to start in just a few weeks time

Swindonians will be able to head across the Atlantic on holiday from next month when American president Joe Biden re-opens the country’s borders for foreign tourists for the first time since March 2020.

Announcing the Presidential Proclamation, reversing the restrictions originally put in place by Donald Trump, President Biden said “I have determined that it is in the interests of the United States to move away from the country-by-country restrictions previously applied during the COVID-19 pandemic and to adopt an air travel policy that relies primarily on vaccination to advance the safe resumption of international air travel to the United States.”

From November 8th Holidaymakers will need to show a Covid pass and a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of traveling to the US and it will be the airlines’ responsibility to check passengers’ proof of vaccination and Covid-19 testing status before they board the flight.
